Pantone Color of the Year 2018

February 26, 2018

The color of the year is described by Pantone as "inventive and imaginative, complex and contemplative" and it's ULTRA VIOLET. It is one color in an expanded color palette put out this year by Pantone's select committee that sets the fashion trends with their color forecasts. In a secret meeting each May and November the elite group convene to set the tone for the next season. These trends influence fashion, home decor and jewelry design. Fortunately for jewelers, this season's color forecast works wonderfully with a variety of gemstones! From amethyst to tanzanite, to purple sapphires the Ultra Violet will be well represented. The beautiful pinks and lavenders correspond with morganite, kunzite and pink sapphires and opals. The arcadia green is very close to peridots, emeralds and green amethyst.  The great news is that all of these palettes mix and match so perfectly together! We have plenty of gemstone stunners in these hues here at Jon Paul Jewelers. Come in and see us!
